Macbeth Cast & Production Dates

EclecticPond Theatre Company presents…

By William Shakespeare
Adapted & Directed by Catherine Cardwell

“Fair is foul, and foul is fair” – Macbeth’s desire to gain power and keep it at all costs threatens to destroy a nation, replacing dignity and rule of law with guilt and paranoia. Set in the American 1950s, see Shakespeare’s greatest couple rise and fall with each choice they make. Catherine Cardwell directs her immediate and visceral adaption of Shakespeare’s intense, claustrophobic and bloody drama.

We are extremely excited about our fourth season, and it promises to be a great one:

Murder. Comedy. Murdering comedy. Mayhem. Time traveling (or, more accurately, time crashing!). Whodunnits. And all kinds of family drama.

ETC announces membership with Shakespeare Theatre Association

As a young theatre company, every year, every season, every show brings new challenges and rewards. Like starting out on a long journey, each step or recognition is a milestone that marks our accomplishments and propels us ahead.

In that spirit, we at EclecticPond Theatre Company (ETC) are pleased to announce a leap forward in that adventure: our recent induction into the Shakespeare Theatre Association (STA), an organization that counts the Stratford Festival, the Folger Shakespeare Library, and Shakespeare’s Globe as members.

While their membership base spans the world, from companies with budgets that range in the millions to small non-profit companies like ETC, ours is one of only a handful in Indiana to be recognized by STA.

Founded in 1991, STA began as a collection of artistic and managing directors of theatre companies, which predominantly produced works of Shakespeare, who wanted to share strategies and ideas and help keep the bard relevant in an ever-changing world.

They also hoped to “…bridge the gap between scholarship and production; and … promote better teaching of Shakespeare in schools.”

Sound familiar? In so many ways the goals of STA align with ours at ETC: creating imaginative, thought-provoking theatre and uniting the creative force of Shakespeare’s works with the academic and educational possibilities within them.

Ultimately, we hope our membership with STA will help us continue to bring high-quality, inspirational theatre to Indianapolis on a regular basis, and that you will tag along for the ride.
